A new Orange County permit for a 58,000 square foot building at Epic Universe has been posted. It could be tied to the rumored Wizarding World expansion. The filing sits beside an earlier permit for a roughly 95,000 square foot ride building and together the two footprints land near the 150,000 square foot plot long associated with that land.
Universal hasn’t announced a Wizarding World expansion at Epic Universe. The permit record doesn’t name Harry Potter, a queue or a ride. The rumor’s read is numerical: if you add the new structure to the earlier ride building and the combined square footage, it lines up with the expansion parcel mapped in earlier filings.
Permit B26907055 lists 1001 Epic Blvd, the address for Epic Universe as a whole. Orange County’s Fast Track system shows a commercial permit applied for on Oct. 16, 2026, with no issue date yet. The project name field reads as a special projects QADP permit and doesn’t describe a theme.
The public record didn’t list square footage on its own, so the 58,000 figure comes from Orlando ParkStop’s reporting on the filing and should be treated as a rumor.
Visible construction energy at the park has centered on Dark Universe, where pilings and a work zone have reached guest paths in Darkmoor. The Wizarding paperwork, by contrast, keeps moving while the plot itself still looks quiet from the guest side of the operating park.

ParkStop argues the new building could hold queue or pre-show space for the rumored attraction rather than the show building itself. That would explain a second structure after the larger ride envelope already moved through permitting at the same address.
How the 58,000 Fits the Earlier Ride Permit
ParkStop’s math puts the new 58,000 square foot building beside the earlier roughly 95,000 square foot ride permit. Together those footprints approach the roughly 150,000 square foot Potter plot that land watchers have tracked against Epic Universe expansion maps for years now.
That math doesn’t equal an announcement. It does explain why a mid-size new-construction permit drew attention with no themed project name on the county form and why ParkStop mapped the second footprint against the earlier ride envelope at the same Epic Blvd address.
What Universal Has and Hasn’t Said
The county packet names a special projects QADP commercial job at 1001 Epic Blvd without a Harry Potter label, a ride title or an opening schedule attached to the incomplete Fast Track record Parks Magic and ParkStop both pulled for the tip.
Parks Magic’s public pull and ParkStop’s screenshot are the sources for the square footage and work-type fields circulating with the tip. Neither filing posts a Universal marketing name for the structure or ties it to a guest-facing reveal date.
