Fans Trash David Corenswet’s Clark Kent Look For James Gunn’s Upcoming Superman Film: “Not The Broccoli Cut”

A number of set photos have emerged from James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film and in particular fans are not happy with how David Corenswet looks as Clark Kent specifically his hair.

The DCU Updates account shared one set photo of Corenswet as Clark Kent and fans immediately ridiculed it.

Thor_Odinson wrote, “Clark Kent be bussin’ fr fr no cap. … Yeah, I hate it.”

Rayrayishappy reacted, “looks like when the rock played the tooth fairy.”

Driftwoodmurphy added, “He has the meet me at Macdonald’s haircut.”

MoistCabbage44 posted, “Bro they gave him the 18 year old TikTok broccoli cut.”

AntalicusTV questioned, “They seriously gave him the broccoli?”

Tsoukalos questioned the idea that Clark now does up his hair when he transforms into Superman, “So now Clark Kent also coiffs and styles his hair while changing into his new bulky, illl-fitting suit? Not an easy task, frankly. Signed, someone who knows about hair.”

A couple of individuals compared the hairpiece to an alpaca. Eacabahug posted, “That hair! OMG! LMAO”

St0rmTrper posted, “Who let a teenager decided the Alpaca look.”

Other individuals reacted to the photo after it was posted to X by the host of Midnight’s Edge Tom Connors.

YouTuber Nina Infinity wrote, “What is with that hair?!?!”

MagitekMags turned Clark’s hair into a bird nest and wrote “Fixed it for you.”

Vox_Oculi posted, “NOT THE BROCCOLI CUT”

WolverineSnikkt added, “Why is there a Treble on his head?”

As noted by a number of the individuals reacting, Kent’s hair does not look like the set photos of Corenswet when he is Superman.

This eschews tradition that normally depicts Superman having a curly q and then almost slicked back as Clark Kent. This tradition dates back to the first appearance of Superman in Action Comics #1.

This tradition would continue into the 1940s as seen in Action Comics #82 albeit Kent is given a a yellow fedora as well.
