Numerous gamers have begun questioning why the Stellar Blade social media account on X shared an article from a website that repeatedly trashed the game.

On X, the official Social Blade account shared an article from TheGamer written by Matt Mckoewn, Aidan Cannon, Joshua Robertson, and Mohamed El Ouardighi. The article is titled “Is Stellar Blade Worth The Price?”

The article concludes, “if you’re in the market for a new hack-n-slash game but don’t care about the story and just want more big gooey-looking monsters to smack, then Stellar Blade is worth it. Albeit at a much, much lower price.”

Gamers reacted to the post questioning why the game would share an article from the outlet that not only takes issue with the game, but has published numerous articles attacking the game.

X user Mangalawyer wrote, “Nice job sabotaging your own game, my Californian social media manager friend.” He also shared numerous examples of TheGamer’s articles lampooning the game.

He added, “You’re sponsoring one of the most toxic websites that attacked your game and Eve for six months while praising any Western game with sex scenes. The article pretends to be unbiased but suggests waiting for a discount. Are you trying to sabotage Shift-up company from within?”

DLibryum also questioned, “Are you actually platforming a site that was hostile to your game?”

PapaUwUx also wrote, “Platforming The Gamer? Okay then!”

Omegavalwinz wrote, “that site attacked your game.”

p9cker_girl posted, “The Official Stellar Blade Twitter Account is sharing TheGamer review which states: ‘our team generally thinks that it’s worth waiting until the game is heavily discounted.'”

Former World of Warcraft Team Lead Mark Kern also stated, “Official Stellar Blade account reposts article by TheGamer which had been blasting Stellar Blade for weeks up to and after release. Some said Sony may run this account and I’m inclined to agree given how tone deaf it is.
