Jimmy Kimmel Planned “Very Hot” Monologue Targeting Trump Supporters Before Disney Pulled the Plug — Iger and Walden Said No

On September 17, 2025, Disney made the extraordinary decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely. The move came after Jimmy Kimmel’s false and inflammatory comments about the killing of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk — remarks that accused Trump supporters of twisting the truth while simultaneously exploiting the tragedy. The fallout has now escalated into one of the most significant entertainment controversies of the year.

At the center of the firestorm is the intersection of politics, broadcast obligations, and Disney’s own corporate leadership. Reports suggest that Kimmel was not only refusing to walk back his remarks but had also prepared an even sharper monologue for the night his show was yanked — a monologue insiders described as “very hot” and directly aimed at supporters of President Trump.

That was when Disney made the decision to yank Kimmel off the air.

What Kimmel Said On Air

The trouble began when Kimmel delivered a Monday night monologue linking Kirk’s murder to the political right. He declared that Trump supporters were “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

The quote immediately sparked outrage. News media had been covering the fact that Kirk’s alleged assassin had reportedly scrawled supposed “anti-fascist” propoganda messaging on his ammo casings and lived with his romantic partner, a biological male who was “transitioning” to female. His parents are reportedly conservative Trump supporters but that doesn’t make the alleged killer one.

Simply put, what Kimmel said was categorically false and could only be described as misinformation at best and willful disinformation at worst.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr agreed. He accused Kimmel of spreading misinformation, labeling the remarks as “truly sick” and raised the specter of federal scrutiny.

Disney Executives Step In

According to Fox Business and Deadline, the final decision to suspend the show came from the very top of Disney. CEO Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment co-chair Dana Walden personally signed off on what the company is calling an indefinite preemption.

In plain terms, that means the show is not canceled, but is removed from the schedule with no announced return date. Disney has substituted reruns and alternate programming in its place.

Multiple ABC affiliates, including Nexstar and Sinclair, reportedly pushed back against Kimmel’s comments. Sinclair executives are said to have demanded not only an apology but even charitable donations to Turning Point USA and the Kirk family. Sinclair will air  Charlie Kirk memorial special in place of Kimmel’s show on September 19th.

The affiliates’ resistance, combined with regulatory pressure, left Disney in a corner.

The Monologue That Never Aired

What has since emerged is that Kimmel had no intention of apologizing. Instead, he prepared to double down.

Fox News host Jesse Watters reported that Disney asked Kimmel to walk back his remarks. Kimmel refused. Insiders told The Hollywood Reporter he was gearing up to deliver a “very hot” monologue that would take direct aim at supporters of President Trump and accuse conservatives of deliberately distorting his words.

That was reportedly the breaking point. Executives decided that putting him on air with that material would only intensify the crisis. Jimmy Kimmel Live! was pulled just hours before broadcast.

Not Fired (Yet)

Despite the headlines, Kimmel has not technically been fired. CNBC’s Alex Sherman reported on X that Kimmel remains under contract and Disney intends to discuss his future response when he returns. The distinction matters: a firing would mean severing ties, while an indefinite preemption leaves open the possibility of negotiation, discipline, or eventual reinstatement.

President Trump, however, has already declared Kimmel “fired,” using the opportunity to mock him as “talentless” and suggesting that the suspension was inevitable.

Union and Industry Pushback

The entertainment industry has been quick to react. Both SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America condemned the suspension as chilling free speech. They argue that punishing a comedian for political commentary, however offensive it may be, sets a dangerous precedent for the entertainment industry at large.

They failed to mention the misinformation portion of the remarks.

Meanwhile, social media campaigns like #BoycottDisney are gaining traction on both sides of the political aisle.

Why This Matters

The Kimmel Disney saga is about more than one late-night host. It highlights a series of deeper tensions.

  • Corporate caution vs. free expression. Disney’s executives weighed the risks of keeping a controversial voice on the air against affiliate relationships, regulatory threats, and public perception.
  • Political speech in entertainment. Kimmel’s refusal to apologize and plan to double down raises questions about how far supposed “comedy” can go before it crosses into misinformation or inflammatory accusations.
  • Affiliate leverage. In an era when networks depend on local broadcasters, the objections of groups like Nexstar and Sinclair carried real weight in shaping Disney’s response.

For Disney, the controversy could hardly come at a worse time. The company is still struggling to rebuild its reputation with Middle America after years of political and cultural clashes. Pulling Jimmy Kimmel Live! may protect affiliates and shield the company from immediate regulatory headaches, but it also risks alienating the entertainment community and sparking fresh boycotts.

Conclusion

Jimmy Kimmel has made a career out of poking fun at politicians, but this time the punchline may have gone too far for his own corporate bosses to stomach. With insiders saying he planned to “take aim” at President Trump’s supporters in a fiery follow-up monologue, Disney executives decided the risk outweighed the reward.

Whether Kimmel ultimately returns to late night or fades into the same history as other suspended personalities now depends on what comes next behind closed doors at Disney.

What people that rise to high prominence in media spaces seem to constantly forget is that they are simple employees. Maybe they get some more leeway when they are super profitable, but at the end of the day, they are just employees. And generally speaking freedom of speech doesn’t offer protection from your employer.

Now, the right side of the argument has long argued that everyone should be allowed to say anything, but why keep defending the other side when they dont show the same quarters to you? Even if this would be cancel culture, it’s but the chickens coming home to roost. The right has not escalated the discourse in the slightest. It has just been pushed and punished for its own virtues enough that it finally fights with the same weapons the left has been using for years. Kimmel and his ilk have made their bed, too bad they dont like it now.

Now things make more sense. Corporate masters demand a specific message and you’re out the door if you don’t obey. It just took this to get him on the radar.

Kimmel needs to grow the hell up and stop bitching about conservatives all the time. It’s not healthy for him to be this obsessed with them or with Trump.

This immature wokifascist is a political commentator (communism-activist). Get him out of “Entertainment”. It’s deranged communist propaganda, he spews.
