Jimmy Kimmel has long been one of the most partisan voices on late-night television, but his recent comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk crossed from mockery into outright misinformation. On his ABC show, Kimmel smeared conservatives and President Trump by wrongly claiming Kirk’s alleged killer was a Trump supporter. The reality? Evidence has revealed the suspect was radicalized by supposed “anti-fascist” rhetoric — the very opposite of the narrative Kimmel peddled to his shrinking audience.
Kimmel’s False Claim
During his Monday night monologue, Kimmel said: “We hit some new lows over the weekendm” claiming the president and his supporters were “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

He didn’t stop there. Kimmel also mocked President Trump’s grieving process.
“This is not how an adult grieves the murder of somebody he [Trump] called a friend,” he said. “This is how a 4-year-old mourns a gold fish, okay?”
Both remarks were wildly offensive — but worse, they were flat-out wrong.
The Truth About the Alleged Killer
Facts matter. And the facts about Kirk’s accused killer bear no resemblance to the story Kimmel told. Authorities have confirmed the suspect scrawled “anti-fascist” messaging onto his ammunition casings before the attack.

Far from being a conservative Trump supporter, the alleged shooter lived with his romantic partner — a biological male who identifies as female. These are not the actions of a right-wing activist. They reflect the ideology and cultural environment of the far-left.
Yes, reports suggest the suspect’s family leaned conservative. But that doesn’t make the killer conservative himself. Children don’t automatically inherit their parents’ political views — a fact Kimmel surely knows. Yet for the sake of scoring cheap political points, he told millions of viewers the exact opposite.
Ignorance or Disinformation?
That leaves us with an uncomfortable question: was Kimmel merely ignorant, repeating talking points from the same echo chamber he’s lived in for years? Or was this willful disinformation, designed to deceive his audience and demonize conservatives?

Either way, the result is the same. Kimmel broadcast a lie to the nation. He attacked grieving conservatives, mocked President Trump, and twisted a tragedy into one more excuse for partisan applause.
The Late-Night Echo Chamber
Kimmel’s monologue wasn’t an isolated incident. For years, his show has functioned as an echo chamber for left-wing politics, designed to flatter one side while ridiculing the other. He doesn’t invite debate. He doesn’t welcome conservative voices. He delivers scripted attacks to an audience primed to laugh on cue.

This is late-night television in 2025: not a place for comedy, but a pulpit for progressive narratives — true or not.
Opinion: A Dangerous Pattern
Kimmel’s rhetoric matters. Despite his rapidly shrinking audience, there are still Americans who tune in, and many will take his words at face value. By spreading misinformation about Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer, he isn’t just misleading his audience. He’s deepening the very divisions he claims to lament.
It’s easy to see why Kimmel only briefly touched on the celebrations of Kirk’s death on platforms like Bluesky, where users gleefully posted “wish lists” of who they wanted to see die next. To fully acknowledge that ugliness would mean holding his own side accountable. Instead, he falsely pinned the murder on conservatives, absolving his allies and inflaming tensions further.

Whether through ignorance or intent, Jimmy Kimmel lied. And in doing so, he disqualified himself from lecturing anyone — least of all President Trump — about unity or morality.

Isn’t iger his ultimate boss? This means he allows it or is so hopelessly ineffective as a leader that the inmates are running the asylum.
Kimmel needs to be shown the door, there’s no room for psychosis in business.
Well this story took an interesting turn: Yimmy’s little monologue broke several FCC rules about lying about the motivations of an assassin and now Carr’s talking about yanking ABC’s broadcasting license if other measures don’t work to force a correction and rein Kimmel in.
