Mercante would also respond to X user sharkerteeth who shared a similar sentiment to her by describing the shooter as a Stormtrooper. She responded to his post writing, “Lmao I LITERWLLU tweeted this.”

Given just how close the bullet came to assassinating a former persident and leading contender for the White House — and given what that would have done to our society and to the world — perhaps it’s an appropriate time to contemplate providence, kindness and repentance more than ever before.
