X user Silentpartner80 took to the social media platform to complain about the show writing, “Obviously Luke Cage was created in the 1970s, but did y’all peek how the Marvel series depicted him having to fight MORE Black people to SAVE Harlem than white villains? I did.”

However, he stayed mum on specific details writing, “I could tell you…but I can’t. And won’t. We had a great season planned.”

It’s possible that the Luke Cage series could see a revival similar to what Marvel is doing with Daredevil. Marvel Studios seemingly acquired the rights to all of the Defenders series that had originally been licensed to Netflix and brought back actor Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio to reprise their roles.

They initially humiliated the characters in subpar and terrible shows such as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Hawkeye, and Echo. It appeared they were going to double on this terrible strategy with Daredevil: Born Again.

However, the company announced in October it was going to creatively reboot the entire series. They canned the directors they had lined up for the series and removed the show’s writers. Furthermore, Vincent D’Onofrio recently confirmed the company is now viewing the series as a continuation of the Netflix series.

D’Onofrio told The Hollywood Reporter, “During our restart of all the creative on Daredevil: Born Again, all the creatives got together and said, ‘Look, this is how we’ve got to do it now.’ So we are for sure only speaking about it in terms of being directly connected to the original Daredevil, and that’s a great thing.”

He added, “It brings in a lot of cool stories and all the collateral story that happened in those original three seasons. So we now get to start this Born Again situation with all of that history behind us and the outcome of all that history. So we’re all talking about Daredevil: Born Again in those terms now.”
