As Star Wars Outlaws gets closer to release, more clips have surfaced showing just how bad the game’s combat, AI, and NPC functions are.

X user Mangalawyer shared a clip that shows at least one NPC turning its back on the player character, Kay Vess, and running in a circle instead of just wasting the player character. Another runs into the player character instead of shooting her. When it does decide to shoot it misses her despite her standing just two feet away.

A clip shared by X user JawaJuice_ shows a squad of Stormtroopers firing into the side of a building while Vess does a roll 90 degrees from the direction they are facing and allegedly attempting to shoot her.
It appears the Stormtroopers knocked Vess off her bike or she jumped off her bike and the Stormtroopers are still firing at the location where they originally picked up on Vess rather than adapting to where she actually is in the game.

Mangalawyer shared another clip from IGN’s review that shows Vess creeping up behind a Stormtrooper. She hits him with the back of her barehand while he’s wearing a helmet and this completely knocks him unconscious.

This scenario is completely unrealistic. A video from the Armored Combat League’s national tournament at Fitcon back in 2021 shows Simon Rohrich fighting Andrew Gober.
Rohrich strikes Gober multiple times in the head with a poleaxe and it does not knock Gober out. He gets knocked down, but he’s not knocked unconscious. By the end of the fight, Rohrich’s repeated blows are able to break Gober’s helmet, but even then Gober is still conscious.
If multiple blows from a poleaxe does not knock someone unconscious, it’s very hard to imagine a backhanded strike from a scrawny woman is going to do it against an armored foe.
Nevertheless, another clip shows Kay Vess avoiding Stormtroopers by hiding behind a single piece of cargo. Four stormtroopers just run straight past her. After they all run past her a fifth Stormtrooper allows Vess to just walk up beside him. She then defeats him by punching in the back and then in the head. See the above video to see how ridiculous this is.
On top of all this, Stormtroopers just allow Vess’ pet to just roam around instead of shooting it. At the end of a clip, Vess fires her blaster at one Stormtrooper and an Imperial officer just continues at his tasks not noticing the loud blaster shot at all.

Another video shows Vess being suspended in mid-air after crashing her speeder bike and just flailing there. In another crash, she gets tossed way up into the air instead of turning into a squished bug on the side of the mountain.
I got to play @StarWarsOutlaws for 4 hours😮
I didn’t crash the speeder nearly as many times as expected.
Huge thanks to @Ubisoft for the opportunity to play Star Wars Outlaws early!💗 pic.twitter.com/Lhmia4M8bF— Nerd Logic (@NerdLogicTV) July 31, 2024
