Comedian Nate Bargatze has publicly announced that his company, Nateland Entertainment, is conducting a feasibility study for a proposed theme park in the greater Nashville, Tennessee, area. The project, also named Nateland, is being developed in partnership with Storyland Studios, a Southern California–based design firm.
Bargatze made the announcement at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando. He has said the idea is partly motivated by his own history: as a teenager, he worked at the now‑defunct Opryland USA, a theme park in the Nashville area that closed in 1997.
Through a division called Nateland Experiences, the team is evaluating more than 100 acres for the park. The plan may include traditional amusement park rides as well as amenities such as retail, restaurants, and a hotel.
Nateland Feasibility Study
A formal feasibility study is now underway. According to Storyland, the study is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. After that, the Nateland team plans to begin pitching the concept to investors.

Nateland and Storyland say they are working closely with state and local government officials to assess suitable sites around Nashville for the project.
Strategic Rationale
Some observers note that the project could fill a gap in the Nashville-area tourism market. Opryland’s closure in 1997 left the region without a major amusement park, and Bargatze’s team argues that a modern attraction could serve both tourists and local families.
Felix Verdigets, CEO of Nateland Entertainment spoke of the location.
“We live in middle Tennessee and recognize the need for a major attraction for people of all ages in the Nashville area,” he said. “We’re excited to see what our partnership with Storyland Studios will bring.”

Bargatze has stated he plans to shift some focus from touring to filmmaking. He aims to create family-oriented entertainment and develop a broader platform for creative projects.
Challenges and Outlook
Even with a feasibility study in motion, analysts caution that building a theme park is a multi‑year, capital-intensive undertaking.

There are significant steps ahead: securing investment, obtaining land, navigating zoning and regulatory approvals, and constructing infrastructure.
The eventual site for the park has not been publicly disclosed.
Conclusion
Nate Bargatze’s Nateland theme park remains in an exploratory phase, but the formal feasibility study and partnership with an established design firm suggest the project is being pursued seriously.

Whether the park becomes a reality will depend on the study’s results, investor interest, and community and governmental support.
