It was the end of an era at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the Park Hoppin’ crew was there to capture it all as MuppetVision 3D closed forever.
On the final day of MuppetVision 3D, Jay (better known to fans as Drunk3PO) and Krista of Park Hoppin’ documented the emotional farewell to a beloved attraction that Disney is doing away with. While MuppetVision quietly took its final bow, the fans made sure it didn’t go out unappreciated.
Fans Flood the Area While Other Attractions Sit Empty
Thousands of guests poured into the Muppets Courtyard to pay tribute to Jim Henson’s final work. The queue for MuppetVision 3D stretched so far back that it overflowed into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, reaching all the way to the overflow queue for Rise of the Resistance. For a brief moment, MuppetVision 3D had a longer line than the most technologically advanced attraction in the park.

Meanwhile, Star Tours sat nearly empty with just a 5-minute wait.
Pressed Pennies, PizzeRizzo, and Piggy Draw Crowds
Jay and Krista showcased a surprisingly long line of guests eager to grab one last souvenir from the MuppetVision pressed penny machine. Over at the Miss Piggy fountain, fans queued up for one final photo op, and even the PizzeRizzo entrance was swarmed with guests soaking up every ounce of Muppet theming still standing.

The Park Hoppin duo went inside for lunch, documenting the restaurant’s infamous wedding-reception-themed ballroom and all the quirky Muppet references hidden on the walls. One of the more heartfelt details spotted? A subtle nod to Pa Otter, a character from Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas—a deep-cut reference any Jim Henson fan would appreciate.
Inside the Theater, Nostalgia Takes Center Stage
When they finally entered the theater, it was a full house. The pre-show area was crammed with guests, many laughing along with the timeless gags—the Three D’s routine (featuring Max — Debbie was sick, so the union sent him…), Rizzo the Rat dressed as Mickey Mouse, and other moments that have entertained families for decades.

But the most emotional part of the day came during the final showing itself.
As Kermit wrapped up the show with his signature farewell—“Come see us again sometime”—the weight of what was happening really hit. For many, this was the last connection to the original Muppets still standing in a Disney park.
Now, it’s gone.
Muppets Out, Monsters In
In what many fans are calling a tone-deaf move, Disney is reportedly closing MuppetVision 3D to make room for a Monsters Inc.-themed land—another corporate decision that trades authenticity and legacy for IP synergy. While Bob Iger and Josh D’Amaro may not have seen value in preserving the last attraction personally overseen by Jim Henson, the guests who filled that theater certainly did.

Thanks to Jay and Krista’s heartfelt coverage, we now have a lasting record of the love fans still hold for the Muppets—and the quiet heartbreak that comes when something special is discarded.
