There’s a new popcorn bucket coming to Walt Disney World, but you won’t be able to buy it. However, you will be able to purchase popcorn from it! Confused? The new popcorn bucket is not a bucket at all, but actually a snack kiosk in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, designed to look like a giant popcorn box.
Still Behind Construction Walls
When we surveyed the area recently the construction walls were still in place, but the top of the kiosk is clearly visible jutting above the top. Walking in from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge it appears this kiosk will be the first visible sign that as a guest you’re entering Toy Story Land.

The new kiosk sits just outside of the restrooms adjacent to Woody’s Lunch Box. A new seating area is also under construction just across the walkway. The installation of this new kiosk follows Walt Disney Imagineering’s recent filing of a permit with Orange County listing Mecca Productions, Inc. as the contractor to “install set elements.”
A Spilled Popcorn Box – Why?
The kiosk is designed to mimic a traditional, red and white striped popcorn box, spilled over on it’s side. The signage on the kiosk shows what appears to be a hand written “and snacks” next to “Popcorn”, perhaps as if scribbled on by Andy (the boy from the Toy Story movie).

It follows the theme of this entire play area being Andy’s backyard, with Andy having created elements himself, such as the restaurant Round Up Rodeo BBQ, out of common “around the house” objects such as cardboard boxes. The irony is that popcorn boxes are also one of the most accidentally spilled items at Walt Disney World.
Of course, the popularity of specially designed popcorn buckets cannot be overlooked, and it is likely many will be sold out of this kiosk in the future. For now, no announcement has been made by Disney as to the upcoming menu for the kiosk, or it’s official name.
Where Is The Popcorn?
While Andy using a popcorn box as a snack kiosk in the play area for all the toys in his backyard is a fun and whimsical idea, we found one element of the structure perplexing: the popcorn. The popcorn that should be spilling out of the box appears to be simply a flat graphic on the side of the kiosk. It doesn’t quite match with other, very well done over-sized set pieces in the land such as the giant straws or Tinker Toys.

Will there be any giant, spilled popcorn kernels surrounding the kiosk? The base is still obscured by the construction walls, so those may be going in, but that remains to be seen.
That Park Place will be keeping an eye on the area to follow up with the menu and kiosk name, as well as any additional show elements at the venue when it officially opens for business.
