Alan Ritchson, who plays Jack Reacher in Prime Video’s Reacher series, appeared to confirm which book season 3 will adapt.

Ritchson shared a photo of a lobster to his Instagram account and captioned it, “Details matter season 3 of Reacher… especially at crafty.”

Ritchson previously announced that he was on the set of the show’s third season and it was in production.
He shared in a video, “You’re on the set of Season 3 of Reacher right now. We’re officially under way.”

Novelist Lee Child would confirm the third season would see Ritchson’s Reacher acting by himself more than with a team as seen in the second season.
Speaking about the novel that the show would adapt, he told The Messenger , “We’ve picked it up, it’s chosen. It’s a good choice, I gotta say. I think we’ve been very creative about how we’ve sequenced the type of story.”
Child added, “We felt we needed a book that was more Reacher alone for the third season. And so it was a question of which story would work best for that, and which one would have a great opening scene and all of that, and we found one that we loved.”

In the comments on Instagram, Ritchson would rule out a number of novels. When asked about Tripwire, he confirmed they were not adapting that one.

He did indicate the show would move to the Northeast when one person asked if he was going to Maine. Ritchson replied, “Getting warmer.”

In another comment he seemingly confirmed the novel would be Persuader.
One of his follower’s commented, “I can’t wait to see Paulie and Reacher fight. How are they gonna find someone bigger than Alan.”
Ritchson responded, “we have a reader!”

Paulie is the nickname of Paul Massarella in Child’s Persuader novel. Child describes him in the novel, “Paulie went straight into some kind of a complicated stretching routine. He was so muscle-bound that his legs and arms had limited articulation. He couldn’t touch his shoulders with his fingers. His biceps were too big.”
However, Reacher observes that his muscles are from steroids after observing him do a bench press, “It was a lot of weight, and he had a lot muscle. But steroid muscle is dumb muscle. It looks real good, and if you want to pit it against dead weight it works just fine. But it’s slow and heavy and tires you out just carrying it around.”

Persuader is the seventh novel in Child’s Jack Reacher series, the novel follows Reacher as he travels to Maine at the behest of DEA agent Susan Duffy who has put one of her female agents, Teresa Daniel, at risk.
Reacher must infiltrate a crime syndicate in an attempt to rescue Daniel.
