Less than two hours following the announcement of Toriyama’s death, Kindred took to X to write, “toriyama gave us the best and worst black characters in anime in the same series, it took range to do that.”

Numerous individuals took Kindred to task for the post. George Alexopoulos wrote, “Seems Sweet Baby employee Chris Kindred has had they/xer account suspended. F**ing racist talking smack about Toriyama-sensei.”

VastoLorde_x wrote, “This….this is disgusting. The black characters in DBZ acted like every other character in the series. And even IF this is a jab at Mr. Popo, the character was a Djin. Not a black man. Screw off pissing on a Dead man’s legacy. Screw you Chris Kindred. I hope you go bankrupt.”

TheDuke0fSydney posted, “So Chris Kindred gets suspended for attempting to start a harassment campaign, comes back, and immediately makes the death of Akira Toriyama about race within 24 hours of it being announced. Pure f***ing evil, PURE. F***ING. EVIL.”

He added, “I don’t care if SBI aren’t as controlling in the writers room, if this is how their employees act (and there are other cases), if this is the kind of person ‘game journalists’ want to protect, if this is your average employee, SBI needs to crash and f***ing burn.”

These people can’t help themselves. They have to turn everything about their agenda including the death of a legend like Toriyama. I agree with TheDuke0fSydney’s take with an addition – if these are the type of people journos and game devs are defending then they all need to be deprived of our money and attention.
