The Mainstream Media Keeps Reminding Us That Ahsoka Wasn’t Expensive

The release date for Ahsoka Season 2 was recently pushed back 2027, and the reasons for the decision are not entirely clear. However, a new narrative around the Disney+ series appears to be developing. In recent weeks, coverage surrounding Ahsoka has increasingly focused on how the series differs from The Acolyte. The focus, however, has not been on story, visual effects, or lore. Instead, the media appears to want audiences to know that Ahsoka is being made on a leaner budget. Significantly, this sudden interest in the dollars and cents invested into Star Wars properties seems to be a developing pattern.

Disney World Announces Another Lightning Lane Price Increase Despite Record-Low Park Attendance

On October 8, 2025, Walt Disney World announced a record-setting price increase for its “skip-the-line” service, Lightning Lane.

While price hikes are nothing new at Disney—especially at the start of the company’s fiscal year—this round of increases comes at a time when attendance across the Florida parks has dropped to some of the lowest levels in years.

The new pricing takes effect on October 29, 2025, raising costs by up to $6 per person per park for Lightning Lane Multi Passes, and between $1 and $3 per person for Single Pass selections. Notably, last year the New Lightning Lane system replaced “Genie+”, which in 2021 replaced the pre-lockdown FastPass+, a complimentary perk included with every ticket and annual pass.

Disney Favorability Plummets Among Both Democrats and Republicans After Kimmel Fiasco, Study Finds

For decades, Disney was the rare American brand that managed to transcend politics and maintain high favorability. Families from both sides of the aisle flocked to its parks, its films, and its streaming service without a second thought. But that era appears to be over.

A new analysis from Jefferies, based on Morning Consult polling, shows that Disney’s favorability has collapsed among both Democrats and Republicans, marking one of the sharpest declines in the company’s modern history. The catalyst? The suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! after false and inflammatory remarks made by Kimmel in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder.

Disney’s Crackdown on Character.AI Shows How Corporate Control Threatens Fan Creativity in the Age of AI

In September 2025, Disney sent a cease-and-desist letter to Character.AI, forcing the platform to strip away all Disney-owned characters from its catalog. The company argued that unauthorized use of its intellectual property could harm its “family-friendly” brand, citing reports of “sexual exploitation, manipulation, and violence” involving its characters on the site. Character.AI quickly complied.

‘Cancel Netflix’ Hits Stock Harder Than ‘Cancel Disney+’ Kimmel Controversy: Wall Street Reveals Which Boycotts Actually Matter

The “Cancel Netflix” campaign has only been active for a few days, but Wall Street is already telling the story loud and clear through stock prices. Fueled by Elon Musk and conservative influencers on X, the movement is cutting into Netflix’s valuation at a pace that should terrify Hollywood. By contrast, Disney’s own recent cancellation drama involving Jimmy Kimmel barely made a ripple in the financial markets.
