A handful of players have discovered another ridiculously bad bug in Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws that sees the player character (Kay Vess) slide across the game’s map after attempting a stealth assassination.

X user Okami13 shared a video of the bug writing, “Star Wars Outlaws needs a few patches to deal with the bugginess. Kinda hard to do stealth when stuff like this happens.”

Hilariously, after Vess is dragged across the game and discovered by the NPCs, she fires around half a dozen blaster bolts into one enemy that seemingly do no damage to it. However, second after that Vess kicks a Rodian and appears to kill it. Another alien is then killed with a single head shot.

The alien that survived the half dozen blaster bolts is then shown stuck in an animated walk.

Okami13_ was not the only one to such the bug. PlaystationSize also shared a video where Vess performs a stealth attack and then immediately slides across the map.

He wrote, “This is canon event lol. Same world event, same location. Anyway, only one time in my +30h playthrough.”

These game breaking bugs come in the wake of Ubisoft’s Q1 sales report call where the company’s CEO Yves Guillemot and Chief Financial Officer FrĂ©dĂ©rick Duguet were asked if the game would be delayed after it received negative feedback regarding its graphics and AI detection on 10 minute gameplay video uploaded to IGN’s YouTube channel.

Guillemot made it clear the company would not be delaying the game and that the game was “high quality.” He said, “The game has gone gold. So the date is well confirmed for August 13th. And, as you mentioned, we’ll be showcasing more content of a very high quality, multiple hours that will really show the depths of the open world, that is a key element of the promise to enjoy the exploration of the galaxy and with multiple planets. So that will bode well for the game in terms of high quality delivery.”

Dugeut added, “We’ve said also for Star Wars the level of quality, the world, and the experience it’s really very high. We are really leveraging our engine and I think people will love it.”

This is not the first time players have discovered disastrous bugs in the game. X user Mangalawyer shared a video at the end of July that shows at least one NPC turning its back on Kay Vess and running in a circle instead of just killing Vess. Another runs into Vess instead of shooting her. When it does decide to shoot it misses her despite her standing just two feet away.

A clip shared by X user SWGarrison_ shows a squad of Stormtroopers firing into the side of a building while Vess does a roll 90 degrees from the direction they are facing and allegedly attempting to shoot her.

It appears the Stormtroopers knocked Vess off her bike or she jumped off her bike and the Stormtroopers are still firing at the location where they originally picked up on Vess rather than adapting to where she actually is in the game.

Mangalawyer shared another clip from IGN’s review that shows Vess creeping up behind a Stormtrooper. She hits him with the back of her barehand while he’s wearing a helmet and this completely knocks him unconscious.

Another clip shows Kay Vess avoiding Stormtroopers by hiding behind a single piece of cargo. Four stormtroopers just run straight past her. After they all run past her a fifth Stormtrooper allows Vess to just walk up beside him. She then defeats him by punching in the back and then in the head. See the above video to see how ridiculous this is.

On top of all this, Stormtroopers just allow Vess’ pet to just roam around instead of shooting it. At the end of a clip, Vess fires her blaster at one Stormtrooper and an Imperial officer just continues at his tasks not noticing the loud blaster shot at all.

Another video shows Vess being suspended in mid-air after crashing her speeder bike and just flailing there. In another crash, she gets tossed way up into the air instead of turning into a squished bug on the side of the mountain.

Mangalawyer shared another clip at the beginning of this month that shows a Stormtrooper fail to detect Vess until nearly standing on top of her.

Former World of Warcraft Team Lead Mark Kern aka Grummz who has called for a 2-year boycott of all AAA games including Star Wars Outlaws pointed out that NPC characters that are victims of Vess’ stealth takedowns immediately drop their weapons.

What do you make of this bug that sees Vess slide across the map like she’s Michael Jackson doing the moon walk?
