After weeks of no signage to welcome guests into the Adventureland section of Disney’s Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, the sign has returned.

This sign is not just a refurbishment. As we were informed by a working cast member, this Adventureland sign is completely new and was installed on September 15, 2025.

While the sign is brand new, it doesn’t have any changed elements from it’s previous iteration.

The Sign Went Missing

When we checked back on August 14, 2025, the Adventureland sign had been removed. Disney workers began dismantling the sign on August 9th, and it had been completely removed by August 13th. We first covered the removal of the sign in this article on August 18th, 2025:

Magic Kingdom Removes Iconic Adventureland Sign – Refurbishment Or Another Modern Update?

At that time, no exact date was given for when the sign would show back up, of if any changes would be made. As the sign was noticeably gone for over a month, Disney Parks fans were wondering if and when it would return. And even when it did, would it be a completely new and different sign like the controversial Tomorrowland entrance swap?

Refurbishment Or Rebrand? Neither

Long time Disney fans speculated what might happen to the traditional Adventureland sign that has always welcomed guests to the area with elements that evoked wonderment and trepidation.

Skulls, spears, and jungle masks had always adorned the sign in the past. A few years back the “Stories Matter” group decided to take offense at certain elements of the Jungle Cruise ride and made changes that frankly go mostly unnoticed. But, would they be involved again and change the Adventureland sign?

Thankfully, no. It appears the new sign is the same as the one that came before.

A Sigh of Relief

With the new sign back in place fans can breathe a sigh of relief at its return. While the sign appears the same, perhaps they’ve upgraded the materials for better weathering and less maintenance needs. The biggest surprise is that this took over a month.

With it being a brand new sign, why was it not simply ready to go? In the past, a replacement such as this may have been installed in the closing, overnight hours so guests would never even know about the change. Under current parks leadership, this sign was gone for over a month.

Bad show, Disney. Or as Captain Hook might state, “Bad form!”

For now, the Adventureland sign has returned, and considering the massive “bad show” area of the drained Rivers of America, this is at least one good thing for guests now venturing to the Magic Kingdom.
