Universal Studios Singapore will add another Super Nintendo World area as part of a wider Resorts World Sentosa expansion in Singapore.

Resorts World Sentosa, where Universal Studios Singapore is located, included the project in its long-term development plans. The announcement also connects with Singapore’s wider plans to expand the island of Sentosa as a tourism destination.

Once completed, Singapore will become the fourth Universal destination with a Super Nintendo World area. Existing locations operate at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Epic Universe in Florida.

The Singapore project will mark the first Super Nintendo World location in Southeast Asia. Universal and Resorts World Sentosa have not announced an opening date.

Resorts World Sentosa Expansion Adds New Attractions

The Super Nintendo World project is part of a larger expansion at Resorts World Sentosa. The resort announced its expansion plans in 2019. Those plans included two new themed areas for Universal Studios Singapore. They were Minion Land and Super Nintendo World.

Minion Land opened in 2025. Meanwhile, the Nintendo-themed area remains in development.

The wider expansion also includes new attractions, hotels, dining spaces, and entertainment facilities. In addition, the resort continues to update existing areas across the property.

Another recent addition is the Singapore Oceanarium. The attraction replaced the former S.E.A. Aquarium and became part of the resort’s ongoing development.

Waterfront Development Planned for Sentosa

The expansion also includes the Waterfront Lifestyle Development. Resorts World Sentosa expects this project to open in 2030.

The waterfront area will add new spaces for dining, entertainment, and leisure activities. However, specific businesses and attractions have not been announced.

This project forms part of Singapore’s investment in its integrated resorts. The country approved major expansion plans for both Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands.

The goal is to create new visitor experiences while supporting Singapore’s tourism industry. At the same time, future projects will focus on improving existing facilities.

Greater Sentosa Plans Include More Changes

Super Nintendo World is only one part of a larger transformation planned for Sentosa and nearby Pulau Brani.

The Greater Sentosa Master Plan outlines future changes across the area. The plan includes new attractions, public spaces, hotels, and visitor facilities. According to the Sentosa Development Corporation, future projects will also improve beaches, coastal areas, and connections around the island.

Development will happen in phases. Some projects are planned for the 2030s, while other changes will continue over a longer period.

Because of the size of the plan, visitors will see changes across Sentosa rather than at a single location.

Super Nintendo World Singapore Details Remain Limited

Many details about the new land coming to Singapore remain unavailable. The company has not yet announced the full attraction lineup, dining options, merchandise locations, or opening schedule.

Existing Super Nintendo World areas vary between Universal parks, with each location offering a different combination of attractions and experiences. For example, Universal Studios Japan and Universal Epic Universe both include Donkey Kong Country, featuring the Mine-Cart Madness attraction, while Universal Studios Hollywood currently features only the Mario-themed portion.

It remains unclear which attractions will appear in Singapore. Universal has also not confirmed whether the location will include Power-Up Bands. These wearable devices appear at existing Super Nintendo World locations. Guests can use them to interact with features throughout the land and track digital activities.

Future Development Continues at Resorts World Sentosa

Super Nintendo World Singapore will become one part of the changing landscape at Resorts World Sentosa. The resort has already added Minion Land and the Singapore Oceanarium. Additional projects will continue to expand entertainment, hospitality, and leisure options.

For now, Universal and Resorts World Sentosa have confirmed the Nintendo-themed area. However, they have not announced a construction timeline or opening date.

More information should become available as development progresses.
