In a stunning development, Disney and ABC have yanked Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely following intense backlash over Kimmel’s offensive and misleading commentary on the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The decision comes after one of ABC’s most powerful affiliate groups, Nexstar, announced it would preempt Kimmel’s show on its stations due to his “recent comments concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk.”

ABC News is under fire after a shocking report appeared to romanticize the man accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk. After hours of blowback for skipping X, Sucker Punch Productions and PlayStation eventually pushed the new Ghost of Yotei: One Thousand Blades trailer to the platform. But fans immediately noticed something unusual: while the Ghost of Yotei trailer has been posted to YouTube and Bluesky, it has not been shared on X, one of the largest gaming discussion hubs on the internet.
