The Bari Weiss era at CBS News has officially begun — and she isn’t wasting time making her mark. In her first decisive act as editor-in-chief, Weiss has removed Claudia Milne, the head of Standards and Practices, signaling a long-overdue course correction for a network that’s been struggling to find its credibility amid years of ideological drift.

Milne’s exit marks the first senior shake-up since Weiss took control earlier this month following Paramount’s acquisition of Weiss’s media platform, The Free Press. The New York Post confirmed that Milne’s departure came abruptly on Thursday, with one CBS insider calling it “significant.” According to the source, Milne “was part of the activist wing at CBS News,” and her removal shows that Weiss is serious about reshaping editorial policy from the top down.

The End of the Milne Era

Claudia Milne had overseen CBS’s standards division since 2021 — the internal office responsible for enforcing the “moral, ethical, and legal” framework that governs what makes it on air. In theory, her role was to safeguard journalistic integrity. In practice, her tenure became defined by censorship and selective reporting that prioritized ideology over accuracy.

Under Milne’s leadership, CBS faced intense criticism for forbidding reporters from identifying the Nashville school shooter, Audrey Hale, as being a biological male who identifies as female — despite the police confirming Hale’s identity and acknowledging its relevance to the case. Milne and then–news division president Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews reportedly spent over 15 minutes instructing staff not to mention the shooter’s gender identity, claiming it “might not be relevant” to the motive.

The order sparked outrage both inside and outside the newsroom. To many CBS journalists, it was a breaking point that exemplified the network’s growing fear of telling inconvenient truths. The facts were there, but CBS chose silence.

Milne was also reportedly one of the executives who blocked veteran correspondent Catherine Herridge from interviewing Elon Musk in 2023 after his purchase of X. Musk had requested that the conversation be broadcast live. CBS refused — worried, according to sources, about what he might say in real time. Herridge later remarked, “Isn’t that the point of journalism? You don’t know what the person’s going to say.”

When seasoned journalists like Herridge began questioning CBS’s editorial courage, it was clear something had gone badly wrong.

A New Direction Under Weiss

Now Bari Weiss — once a New York Times editor and founder of The Free Press — has stepped into the role with a mandate to restore balance and integrity to CBS. Her hiring came as part of a sweeping deal that brought The Free Press under the CBS umbrella. Paramount executives reportedly gave Weiss near-total authority to reshape the newsroom’s tone and policies.

If firing Milne is any indication, Weiss intends to make good on that mandate. Her reputation as a contrarian and free-speech advocate precedes her — she’s built an entire career challenging ideological conformity in the press. Critics on the left may bristle, but her supporters see her as precisely what CBS needs: a leader willing to challenge the old guard and return journalism to its core function — reporting truth without fear or favor.

The Road Ahead

Whether Weiss’s reforms will stick remains to be seen. CBS’s newsroom culture has been entrenched for decades, and pushing against the inertia of institutional politics won’t be easy. Some staffers have already expressed unease about her arrival, while others see it as a long-overdue correction.

But for the first time in years, CBS News looks unpredictable — and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. After years of careful scripting and sanitized storytelling, a little chaos might just be what the network needs to rediscover authenticity.

One thing is certain: the coronation is over. Bari Weiss is now ruling, and the old regime is officially gone.

Some Loser

Regardless of what improvements she makes CBS is a cesspit that has lost all credibility, just like every other mainstream media outlet.

Mr0303

Weiss herself isn’t particularly great, so this means nothing.

So now they’ll be able to criticize trannies, but will also double down on censoring any mention of the (((genocidal desert merchants))) and their behind the scenes efforts to push trannies in White countries.
