A new rumor claims that Henry Cavill will play a Wolverine variant in the upcoming Marvel Studios’ film Deadpool & Wolverine.

This rumor comes from CanWeGetSomeToast, who shared on Instagram, “I can confirm that Henry Cavill will in fact play be playing a Wolverine Variant in Deadpool & Wolverine.”
He added, “Fans will be very pleased with his appearance.”

Can We Get Some Toast’s claim comes following a report from Henry Hards at Giant Freakin Robot that claimed Cavill would show up in the film.
Hards reported, “Now, however, I’ve been able to confirm that Henry Cavill will indeed appear in Deadpool 3. More than that, I know who he’s playing.”
“Henry Cavill will appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as a multiverse variant of Wolverine. His version will be wearing a long brown coat when he shows up, and this will be Cavill’s first appearance in the Marvel universe,” Hards shared.

Given these descriptions, it’s anyone’s guess as to which variant of Wolverine, Cavill might be playing.
There are numerous Wolverine variants including Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Counter-Earth Hawkeye, Bounty Hunter Wolverine, General James Howlett, Hydra Wolverine, Mangaverse Wolverine, Captain Logan, Zombie Wolverine, MC2 Wolverine, Mr. Murderhands, Ultimate Wolverine, Wolvie II, Vampire Wolverine, Feral Wolverine, Dark Claw, Hot Claw Wolverine, Logan Phoenix, and Old Man Venom.
Some of these variants have made appearances in previous X-Men films such as Weapon X in X-Men: Apocalypse and Old Man Logan in Logan.
