The BBC hired anti-white activist Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson to write the novelization of the 2023 Christmas special “The Church on Ruby Road.”

In an investigative report, YouTuber Price of Reason uncovered Jikiemi-Pearson’s activism.

Price of Reason first cites Jikiemi-Pearson’s official website, where she describes herself, “As an author of Nigerian, Jamaican, and British-Australian heritage, her work primarily focuses on people who live at the intersection of identities, whether that’s here on Earth, or in far away galaxies of her own creation.”

From there, Price of Reason cites Jikiemi-Pearson’s agent’s description of her and her work, “Winner of the inaugural Gollancz and Rivers of London BAME SFF Award in 2020, now known as the Future Worlds Prize, her writing is invariably about Black people dismantling space empires, travelling through time, and saving the world – often simultaneously.”

Her agent also highlights that she is the “co-founder of the organisation Impact of Omission, as featured in the Guardian, Huffpost, and the Channel 4 Documentary “Where’s My History?” with footballer and anti-racism campaigner Troy Deeney.”

Impact of Omission makes clear its goals on its website, “We are Impact of Omission, an organisation run by two uni students that aims to make education on Britain’s imperial past part of the compulsory national curriculum. For too long the U.K. has gone uneducated on its history as an empire, and this ignorance has allowed racist structures of power to not only endure, but flourish.”

The site adds, “We are by no means the first people to campaign for a more accurate and truthful curriculum that celebrates the contribution of Black Brits, whilst exploring the country’s violent, racist past.”

The organization’s “About” section also posits, “Racism is just as institutional and systematic here in the U.K. as it is in the U.S. – the problem is, here we aren’t taught about it.”

Next, Price of Reason shared a number of social media posts from her that show her resentment against white people.

In November, she posted, “am I crazy or is every single one of the Goodreads choice fantasy finalists a white author??? (if so this confirms my hunch re: a palpable shift away from reading ‘diverse fantasy’ likely as a reactionary response to the championing of BIPOC stories the last few years) oh no. lol”

In another post she wrote, “booktok favs are also OVERWHELMINGLY white and het. This informs what books are seen as profitable/low risk. & tbh (hot take incoming) I think if you only read what’s trending and make no effort to seek out and shout about diverse, quality literature then ur part of the problem.”

In October 2023, she wrote, “white people will really come into your replies on a post that isn’t about them or for them and start writing diary entries … LEAVE ME ALONEEEE.”

Price of Reason would later comment, “Given the amount of influence that both Russell T. Davies and Disney have over the Doctor Who franchise these days it’s entirely possible and likely that they had even signed off on this endorsement as well.”

He added, “But what seems especially absurd to me is considering that the citizens of the UK basically pay for the BBC’s entire existence, the very citizens and country that Esmie doesn’t seem to be a fan of, that the BBC has seemingly embraced Esmie in such a big way.”

It’s not farfetched to believe this was approved by The Walt Disney Company, the company’s subsidiary hired and still employs Krystina Arielle after she called all white people racist.

Arielle, who is the host of the Star Wars: The High Republic show, made numerous posts in 2020 making clear her disdain for white people. In one she wrote, “White people: f***ing stop it. Your racism won’t save you. Your ignorance is not an excuse.”

In another she posted, “Just a reminder that White Women are just as complicit in the upholding and enforcing White Supremacy.”

Lucasfilm officially supported Arielle and her comments writing on Twitter, “Our Star Wars community is one of hope and inclusivity. We do not stand for bullying and racism. We support Krystina Arielle.”

Price of Reason also points out that Deadline reported the BBC’s Senior Schedule Co-Ordinator and Playout Planner at BBC Three Dawn Queva left the company after making “a string of highly antisemitic Facebook posts.”

A statement from the BBC noted, “The individual concerned in no longer employed by the BBC.”

Price of Reason then transitions to pointing out how hiring individuals like Jikiemi-Pearson is ruining shows like Doctor Who. He explained, “When you’re watching Doctor Who and Isaac Newton is suddenly from India, David Tennant’s Doctor gets lectured about pronouns, and the new Doctor implies he’s had a romantic relationship with Houdini, this isn’t some light-hearted coincidence. It’s absolutely done by design by a group of people that seem much more interested in their activism than anything creative that they’ve been hired to do.”

He added, “And this is a direct result of the company culture that is being nurtured in places like the BBC, Disney, as well as the Doctor Who production led by the now agenda-driven Russell T. Davies.”
